mist above the shipyard
the drifting shape of a tug
disappearing
a drip of coffee
on the table mat
one color morning

Printed in Frogpond Journal, Winter Edition 2009, Volume 32, No.4 (released in March 2010)
autumn evening-
dishes soaking in the sink
drama on tv
autumn even fall
just one cup of jasmine tea
on tatami mat
a train passes on
the wheels fiz remains a while
above the station
turning evening
autumn breeze suddenly changes
color of the sky

deserted village
from gate to gate grabbling
a hungry white dog
morning teeming rain
beyond an open window
whispered lullaby
glissading rain drops
the front window becoming
insubstantial
early spring morning
black coffee flavor steaming
balcony’s window
a drip of coffee
blurring the silky napkin
hassle of sparrows
chilly autumn rain
dark spots multiplying
on her leather shoes
this rainy morning
no one to be gathered by
the ring of the bell
late summer drought
besides her rose tatoo
a pale blue vein
lonely ivied house
an opened window wakes up
a mosquitoes swarm
frosty afternoon-
the smell of roasted chestnuts
stirs up memories
closed salt mine
fluttering the ease
a priest’s chant

lake at sunset -
water becoming
pinot noir
the milky spring fog -
sharp, loud scream of the black storks
wrinkling the lake
